Learn the basics of Musical Theatre in this class where students will learn age appropriate singing technique, Broadway style dance and movement, and try their hand at acting! They will use their new skills to perform with their classmates in a popular Broadway number for their final class. This is a great way for newcomers to give musical theatre a try and for lovers of musical theatre to hone their talents and learn new skills. Appropriate for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and beginning level 2nd grade.

Students in this class will build on their knowledge of ensemble singing and move into solo singing and acting technique. They will learn age appropriate solo singing techniques and character acting skills. Students will use their new skills to perform with their classmates in a popular Broadway scene and song. This is a great way for newcomers to give musical theatre a try and for lovers of musical theatre to hone their talents and learn new skills. This class is appropriate for all levels 3rd-4th grade and for advanced 2nd grade with instructor approval.

Each week students will hone their musical theatre skills in dancing, singing, and acting. Students will learn how to create a character, memorize and perform a monologue, sing with an ensemble and as a soloist, and learn the basics in various Broadway styles of dance; ballet, tap, and jazz. This class is for anyone who wants to learn more about musical theatre and leave a well rounded performer who can act, sing, and dance...students will be well on their way to becoming...a triple threat!

Act out a new story together each week through imaginative adventures inspired by beloved books! In this creative drama class designed for young students and their caregivers, collaborative story exploration sets the foundation for exploring communication, movement, and emotional expression. Each week is inspired by a new story with opportunities to transform into characters, shape the narrative, and work together that support the development of confidence and creativity while providing an experience full of joy, wonder, and imagination.
Siblings younger than 2 are welcome to attend with their older sibling and caregiver.

Act out a new, dramatic journey each week fueled by imagination in a class that fosters social-emotional learning and confidence! Through imaginative play, multimodal sensory engagement, and music, students celebrate their creativity, practice interpersonal communication, and are introduced to collaboration. Inspired by students’ imaginations and interests, drama-based activities exploring movement, sound, and storytelling guide students to faraway places and unique characters on memorable journeys.
This is an independent pre-school class where children will participate without a caregiver. Please plan on remaining onsite while your child is in class.

Drama Adventures is an inclusive class that provides children of all abilities an opportunity to explore drama, imaginative play, and performing arts. Sing, Dance, and Act out familiar stories with guidance from a professional Playground Stage Teaching Artist.
Come join Playground Stage at We Rock the Spectrum. This Drama Adventures class is being hosted by our friends at We Rock the Spectrum in their facilities at 63 Turtle Creek Dr. Asheville, NC 28803. As an added bonus you may elect to join the fun an hour early with a Stay and Play for $50. With this add on, bring your child in an hour before each class and enjoy the We Rock the Spectrum Gym!
This Program includes eight (8) classes held every Friday from 4:00-5:00pm starting February 25th through April 29th. (April 8th and 15th will be skipped due to Spring Break)
